Tons of books move through here every month

What we carry

Mostly wonderful used things at recycled prices — and easy ways to order almost anything new, with the bookstores getting credit either way.

Stacks of used paperbacks and hardcovers

Books — used, new & out-of-print

Hardbacks and paperbacks across the whole map: fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, large print, audio books, magazines and titles in other languages — plus many new, used and out-of-print books by local writers.

Children’s books & young readers

Younger readers are very important to the bookstores. Keep us in mind as a pretty inexpensive, quieter-than-average place to spend time with your child, grandchild, niece or nephew — children’s books start at just 50¢.

Movies

DVDs, VHS tapes — even LaserDiscs. Great films for every movie lover at prices that make it easy to take a chance on something you’ve never seen.

New books, same neighborhood loyalty

Order anything new — the stores still win

Bookshop.org

Browse almost every new title at Bookshop.org/shop/luckydogbooks. Most titles are discounted 5–10%, and orders through our storefront support the bookstores.

Then show your receipt at either store and we’ll take a rebate worth another 15% of what you spent there off your recycled purchases — and when you’re done with those new books, recycle them with us for cash or store credit.

Requests & special orders

Hunting a particular used book, DVD, CD, VHS, LP, LaserDisc, cassette or 8-track? Email treats@luckydogbooks.com or send a request and we’ll check both stores.

We’ll transfer items between stores at no charge for easier pickup, and we can keep a standing request on file — no obligation.

Books mailed — anywhere

We’re happy to mail books anywhere in the world, including to prisons that allow books from bookstores.

Within the U.S. it’s $5.00 for the first pound and 75¢ per pound after that by media mail; international mailings are quoted individually.

Gift certificates & subscriptions

We still use paper gift certificates — personalized right on the certificate, with a printed usage log so the remaining balance is always clear, and the store locations shown so your recipient never has to look them up. Available from $5 to $1,000, in store or online.

Or give a reader a monthly subscription: each month we mail them $5-off mini-gift certificates that double as bookmarks until used, with no expiration date. It’s billed through PayPal and you can cancel anytime.
